All emails sent by SLASCONE can be customized. You can create different versions of the same email template for the following languages:
- English
- German
- Spanish
- French
SLASCONE supports two types of email templates:
- Global email templates
- Product-specific email templates
GLOBAL EMAIL TEMPLATES
Global email templates are used for emails that are not related to a specific product. SLASCONE allows you to customize the following templates:
- Invitation - Vendor Portal User
- Invitation - Reseller Portal User
- Invitation - Customer Portal User
- Successful Registration (Welcome) - All Users
Customizing these templates is particularly useful for emails sent to your resellers and customers, as it allows you to adapt the content and wording to your organization.
CREATING AN EMAIL TEMPLATE
When an invitation email is sent to a customer or reseller, SLASCONE uses the language configured in the respective customer or reseller profile to determine which version of the email template should be used.
If no template exists for the recipient's language, SLASCONE uses the first available version of the template.
PRODUCT EMAIL TEMPLATES
Product email templates are associated with a specific product and are used for product-related emails.
A product email can be sent in the following ways:
- Manually using the SLASCONE UI
- Using the SLASCONE API
- Automatically as the result of a configured alert
CREATING AN EMAIL TEMPLATE
When an email is triggered by an alert, SLASCONE uses the language configured in the recipient's customer profile to determine which version of the template should be used.
If no template exists for the recipient's language, SLASCONE uses the first available version of the template.
DEFAULT SENDING OPTIONS
A product email template can also define default values for the following sending options:
- Send me a copy - sends a copy of the email to the SLASCONE user sending it.
- Use my email address for replies - uses the email address of the SLASCONE user sending the email as the reply-to address.
- Attach license file - attaches the generated license file to the email, if applicable.
These settings define the default values used when an email is prepared for sending. When sending an email manually using the SLASCONE UI, the options are preselected according to the template but can still be changed before the email is sent.
VARIABLES
Email templates can contain variables in both the subject and the body. SLASCONE replaces these variables with the corresponding values when the email is generated.
The available variables depend on the type and purpose of the email template and are shown directly when configuring the template.
For example, product email templates can use variables such as ##product##, ##licensekey## or ##useremail##.
