LOCALIZATION

SLASCONE’s UI is built to support organizations and its users worldwide. In this context, the web browser locale (language) and the timezone are taken into account, affecting the following areas:

• Number/Date formatting: according to the web browser’s locale.
• UI Language: english (default) and german language are available.

Time Analysis – System Timezone

The timezone used for analyzing data in Slascone can be configured under Settings → Time Analysis → System Timezone. The System Timezone setting allows you to define a timezone that can be used consistently for data analysis. Events and heartbeats are still stored in the database in UTC. The selected timezone determines how these UTC timestamps are interpreted when calculating and displaying data for a specific date or time period.

Selecting the Timezone for Analysis

If the System Timezone configured in Slascone differs from the timezone configured on the user's computer, the user can select the timezone to be used for the analysis directly in the Date Filter.

The following options are available:

• System Timezone – Uses the timezone configured in Slascone for the analysis.
• Local Timezone – Uses the timezone configured on the user's computer, including the applicable daylight saving time rules.

Consistent Reports Across Locations

• Using a centrally configured System Timezone makes it possible for users in different locations to analyze the same data consistently, regardless of the timezone configured on their computers.
• For example, a user in India and a user in the USA can see the same report data when the same System Timezone is selected for the analysis.
• This is particularly useful for internationally distributed organizations that need a consistent view of their data. It also allows customers and resellers to analyze data based on their own timezone when required.

• Note: Events and heartbeats are always stored in UTC. The selected timezone does not change the stored timestamps. It only determines how the timestamps are interpreted for data analysis and how the resulting data is displayed in reports.

Firefox

Firefox has two language settings:

• Language used for Firefox UI
• Preferred languages for displaying pages

For SLASCONE, the Preferred languages for displaying pages is used.
